The 2019 edition of the SorsiCorti Short Film Festival in Italy has set to host three short titles from Iran.
‘Like a Good Kid’ by Arian Vazir-Daftari, ‘Birthday Night’ by Omid Shams and Javad Abdollahzadeh’s ‘Translation of Ebb’ form the Iranian lineup to compete at the 13th edition of the Italian event.
The SorsiCorti will not be the first international appearance for the mentioned titles as they attended many prestigious global film events before.
‘Like a Good Kid’ has participated at various world festivals, including Festival de Cannes in France, the Huesca Int’l Film Festival in Spain, the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala in India, the Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival in Brazil, the Visioni Corte International Short Film Festival in Italy, and the Brno 16 International Short Film Festival in the Czech Republic.
‘Birthday Night’ has experienced competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France while Abdollahzadeh attended the 35th Tehran International Short Film Festival with his debut ‘Translation of Ebb’.
Launched in 2010, the SorsiCorti is aimed at giving visibility to the works of filmmakers from all over the world and offering a careful selection of quality short films to the audience.
To be held in Italy, the film event is slated for May 27-June 2, 2019.
